The intent of this blog is to educate beginners/newcomers in the horse world.
In my early years I found there to be so many things that weren't explained properly. Do I really need to clip my horse for the winter, what does my horse really need to eat, do I need to bandage, and so on. We do many of these things because "that's just what you do when you have a horse", without really stopping to think about why we are doing it. None of these things are good or bad, but they do have definite reasons behind why you would do them. If you don't know the "why", how do you decide what's right for you and your horse?
Keep in mind that this is all aimed at beginners and pleasure riders. It focuses on the basics.
I am not claiming that I have all the answers, nor that "my way" is right. There is no one right way, but there are facts and "why's" behind the ways things are done. My intent is to provide answers to those things so that people can decide for themselves what is right for them and their horse.
